| Clean
conector
interfaces are critical for the proper functioning on optical
networks. Upon inspection, if a connector is dirty, a dry
cleaning methods should be used. Cassette and pen-type cleaners plus
dry swabs and wipes are designed for this. If after repeating
a dry technique the connector is still |
contaminated,
a wet cleaning method is in order. Pre-moistened swabs and
wipes used in conjunction with cleaning chemicals are the choice
here. Cleaning kits provide all these items in one convenient
package. Always inspect a cleaned fiber face to ensure it is
free of contamination. |

Cassette Cleaners
Cassette style fiber optic connector cleaners use a densely woven
micro fiber cleaning fabric to remove harmful contaminates off the
ferrule and face. The anti-static cloth material produces a
pristine fiber tip and minimizes contaminant attraction. The
cleaning fabric is pre-washed and produces less than 70 pcs/CFM of
particles. |
Pen-Type Cleaners
Designed to clean single
fiber connectors residing in an adapter, faceplate, or
bulkhead. An easy pushing motion engages the connector and
initiates the cleaner. Tools are made from antistatic resins
and incoporates optical grade cleaning fibers. Their caps
prevent contamination and some work as adapers. |

Cleaning Chemicals
Cleaning chemicals specially
designed for the fiber optic industry do not leave residue that
would cause a dirty connection. Some wipes and swabs already
come saturated with cleaning chemicals, or purchase them separately
to apply to dry wipes and swipes. |
Fiber Wipes
Use wipes dry or wet for
end-face and connector cleaning plus splice preparation. Wipes
are available saturated with cleaning chemicals and dry to be used
alone or with cleaning fluids. Made of heavy duty lint-free
material they are tough and won't shred or tear yet soft for fine
surfaces. |

Cleaning Swabs
Cleaning system swabs are
designed for fiber optic equipment maintenance to improve signal
transmission. Swabs and sticks are available saturated with
cleaning chemicals and dry to be used alone or with cleaning fluids.
They come in a variety of styles and types. |
Fiber Cleaning Kits
Fiber cleaning kits supply
all the items needed to effectively clean fiber optic connectors in
one convenient package. Kits keep all needed cleaning items
available, organized and secure. This makes them ideal for use
in the field and on installations. |
